DAY 22 – 8 April 2020

Well another evening already and I’m delighted to report it has been another excellent day in Casa Low! That sun has continued to shine brightly, the birds have continued to sing loudly and M’s nappies continue to be just about bearable.
After last night’s post I had to promise my wife that I wouldn’t use her in derogatory terms tonight. I mean I agreed of course given how much I love her but it is a shame I can’t share the excellent material she regularly provides with you all.
Fortunately neither of my children are on Facebook (the kids these days are all on Insta and Snapchat) so they can’t stop me talking about them. They did spend most of the day with their mother due to work so no doubt some of her hilarious antics will have rubbed off!
Top 5 today was tough but here we go:

1. I came down the stairs this afternoon and walked into the middle of a game of hide and seek which has clearly been a popular pastime during lockdown as E had taken it to a whole new level. Now, there are really only limited places to hide in a house when you are 5 yet Steph genuinely couldn’t find her! It turned out she had wedged herself behind the tent in our living room, so whilst Steph had checked in the tent she hadn’t thought to look behind it – outwitted by a 5 year old! 🤭
2. Now M also loves a game of hide and seek, but in particular loves to hide even when we aren’t playing. His current favourite is to hide whenever a clean nappy is taken out of the bag ready for change time. The only thing he hasn’t learnt is that we can still see him even if he can’t see us. So standing in the middle of the living room with his hands over his face doesn’t present as big a challenge as he seems to think! 🤦🏼
3. The little time I had with E today was focused on teaching her some important life skills aka giving her chores. It turns out that she “really enjoys” doing the washing up and that she “needs to learn these things for when I am married to Jamie”. Perhaps a little bit of female empowerment wouldn’t go amiss and I definitely need to sit down to have a chat with my future son in law when this lockdown comes to any end. 🤵🏼
4. Our daily lunchtime walk was unfortunately the one negative of today as we didn’t even get out the front door! After telling the kids to get their shoes on, I came into the living room to chase them up only to find M fast asleep on the couch and E very close. Now, I know M likes a dummy when he sleeps but hogging 3 is just OTT. What’s even better is he’s started having a single suck on each one, tasting each in turn like some kind of food critic, before deciding which one he wanted. Picture a tennis player choosing which of 3 identical balls they are going to serve with. 🎾
5. The kids have developed a new found love of our indoor swimming pool. Now you and I might just call it a shower but through the wondrous eyes of my kids it is a huge adventure playground where they both belt out some tunes (mainly the hits from Frozen and Frozen 2) and play incredibly imaginative games which I won’t even try to understand. I genuinely don’t think they realise they are getting washed as they play! Oh to be an innocent child, where the biggest stress is whether your parents have realised they each gave you a dessert that evening. 🚿
