DAY 15 – 1 April 2020

Cracks and strain everywhere. A 3.45am start this morning (thanks M!) did not set us up well today and we’ve had two tired children all day and a very cranky Daddy. This evening was basically tantrum after tantrum, extreme mood swings and constant niggling with repeated demands for food and drink and a refusal to go to bed. But I finally got Steph tucked in and then sorted the kids out.
E has picked her themes this week (she’s a big girl you know) and today was G. She picked God much to the delight of Great Grandma Marian I’m sure! Cue some very interesting discussions…
I should also mention that we are continuing with our #RemoteWorking during all of this. Not quite sure how we’re managing that balance but so long as clients and colleagues don’t mind hear the echoes of screaming and fighting in the background I’m sure we can carry on working side by side.
Right, so onto today’s top 5:

1. “So E, what do you know about God?”
“He lives in the sky Daddy and looks down on us. But he’s also everywhere like in the ground and in the grass. Oh no I walked on the grass so I think I stood on God!” 🤨
2. “How do you talk to God, E?”
“That’s easy Daddy. You send him a card” 💌
3. Den building went down a storm this morning with architect Mammy in charge. It was so structurally robust that even Bulldozer M couldn’t take it down! Maybe she should be in charge of all future DIY! 🚜
4. Lots of people are suggesting we should be learning new skills with all this extra time at home. I’ve decided to learn hair styling by using E as my model – I’m all over the plaits and need to push onto something more challenging! 👱‍♀️
5. School night drinking is now definitely becoming a problem. Our bottle bin normally only gets taken out every 4 weeks but it is full already and was emptied 5 days ago! I suspect everyone else is in the same boat but please feel free to reassure me before I sign up for some meetings (remote ones of course!) 🍷
